📚 Summer Packets Were Sent Home!☀️
ALL students brought home grade-level summer packets designed to help prevent the "summer slide" and keep those hard-earned skills sharp! ✏️
📝 What You Need to Know:
📦 Packets include recommended summer assignments in reading, math, and more.
🏡 They can be completed at home OR with support during Summer Scholars (*Link calendar here) sessions with Mrs. Thompson.
⏰ Students can attend as many Summer Scholars sessions as they’d like, for all or just part of the time — it’s flexible!
✔️ The packet does not need to be completed in full. The goal is consistent practice throughout the summer to support ongoing learning.
🎉 ALL students who participate in Summer Scholars or work on their packets over the break will be celebrated both during Summer Scholars and when we return to school in the fall!
We can’t wait to see all the amazing summer learning happening in our school community!
📅 To sign up for Summer Scholars or if you have any questions, contact Mr. H, jhintenach@frenchtownschool.org, or Mrs. Thompson tthompson@frenchtownschool.org
See you soon!

Congrats, FES Class of 2025! The ceremony included numerous awards, an amazing musical performance ( guidance of Mrs. Ippolito) by class members, and inspirational speeches from graduate Amelia Rodriguez & past FES graduate Christian Bach! The night was supported by many families, friends, staff members, Adam Blackburn (Vice President of BOE), and Kate Yard (8th-grade coordinator). Additionally, FES was privileged to have several special guest presenters, including Jackie Campbell from the Frenchtown Library and Kathy Petro, who presented her Spirit Award! Thanks again to the 7th-grade parents for our refreshments! Wishing you the best of luck in high school, 2025 graduates! #alwaysaterrier

Community in Action! This past week, students from Del Val (Lila from SADD Club) and Frenchtown Elementary joined forces with our local police department & Ms Cruz (Brain Alliance) to participate in their Safety Blitz Campaign, and the results were nothing short of inspiring! Students got the amazing opportunity to create their personalized safety messages, which were proudly displayed on the digital sign for the whole community to see! A huge THANK YOU to our dedicated officers, FES families & brilliant students for showing how teamwork can truly make a difference. #alwaysaterrier

Teamwork in action, and smiles all around at FES! Students engaged in the Bike Rodeo and D&R Canal Trail Ride last week. A big THANK YOU to Ms. Nina from GoHunterdon, Mrs. Bontempo, and our amazing local police officers for stopping by and ensuring the day was fun, safe, and unforgettable for our students. Excellent job, all! #alwaysaterrier

Our 8th graders had a beautiful day exploring Philadelphia yesterday! With just a few days left, the excitement is building for our soon-to-be FES graduates. We’re so proud of you! #alwaysaterrier

Congratulations to FES 8th graders Hope and Amelia! We are so proud to say that two of our students were honored (at Delaware Valley Hgh School) for their academic achievements as part of the 35th Annual Elementary School Honors Ceremony. Summer Scholars! We are thrilled to announce the launch of our Summer Scholars Academic Support Club, a fantastic new opportunity to keep young minds active and growing over the break! Led by our dedicated and inspiring Mrs. Thompson, this club is designed to help students maintain and strengthen their academic skills in a fun, engaging environment.
Summer is a time for FUN—and learning can be part of that fun! We believe in the importance of keeping skills sharp, and this club will help our students return confident and ready to shine in the fall. Let’s make this summer a season of growth and excitement!

Good Afternoon Parents!
A friendly reminder that FES is taking part in The Hatch, ArtYard’s free family-friendly festival featuring colorful costumes, upbeat musical performances, a community procession, and a towering egg, at 2 PM on Saturday, May 17.
Grade 5 students who created bird puppets during our ArtYard field trip last month – and anyone else interested in dressing up in a bird costume for the event! – are invited to hatch out of the egg as part of the program.
“FES hatchlings” dressing up as a bird or flying their bird puppet should arrive for the parade line-up promptly at 1 PM at ArtYard and find the FES flock.
Spectators who prefer to watch the event can arrive ahead of the 2 PM festival start time along ArtYard’s courtyard and the rail trail.
We are so excited to have this opportunity to participate in this event and have our students show off their FES spirit and AMAZING birds!
Hope to you see you there,
Mr. H, Ms. Hurley, and Ms. Meghan (ArtYard)

Happy School Nurse Day, Nurse Amy! THANK YOU for all of your support to FES students & staff. It is very much appreciated! #alwaysaterrier

Join Us for Children's Mental Health Awareness Day 2025 – May 8th
Children’s Mental Health Awareness Day 2025 will be observed on Thursday, May 8th. This year’s theme, "Let's Grow Together," highlights the collective journey of promoting mental health and well-being for children. It's a powerful reminder that by working together, we can create a supportive environment where all children can thrive.
This annual observance is part of Mental Health Awareness Month in May, dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of mental health, especially in children. On this day, we focus on the mental health needs of children, spark meaningful conversations, and work to break the stigma surrounding mental health struggles.
We encourage everyone to wear green on Thursday, May 8th, as a symbol of solidarity and support for children’s mental health. Your participation will help raise awareness and show children that their emotional well-being matters.
Children’s mental health is vital to their overall development and success. Early intervention and open dialogue are crucial to ensuring children receive the support they need. By observing this day, we emphasize the importance of mental health and inspire action toward building a supportive, inclusive, and understanding environment for all children.
Let’s come together to raise awareness, support one another, and create a world where every child’s mental health is a priority. Wear green on May 8th and be part of the movement to help children grow stronger together!

The next meeting of the Centennial Celebration Committee is scheduled for Thursday, May 8th at 6:00 PM. Come join us to help plan the birthday party of the century! We hope to see you there!
